Belize joins TMview

As of 26 February 2024, the Belize Intellectual Property Office (BELIPO) has made its trade mark data available to the TMview search tool.

With BELIPO on board of TMview, the tool now contains data from 76 participating offices.

With the addition of more than 19.966 trade marks from BELIPO, TMview now provides information and access to more than 120 million trade marks in total.

Since the introduction of TMview on 13 April 2010, the tool has served more than 126 million searches from users worldwide, with United States, Spain, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom among the most frequent visitors.

The integration of Belize in TMview is a concrete result of the EU funded project called CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation (CARIPI), which is directed by the European Commission and implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and it has been achieved thanks to the good cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Throughout the project, CarIPI has worked closely with BELIPO for a more efficient use of intellectual property rights. As of 13 September 2021, Belize joined TMclass and on 24 February 2023 it became the fifth country from CARIFORUM to become a member of the Madrid System.

Whatsmore to help designers and entrepreneurs in Belize get a clear understanding of the Hague System and its exponential benefits, CarIPI released a practical guide on the Hague System in Belize:  ‘Bringing Belizean Design to the World’.
