ARISE+ IPR organizes the first ASEAN Trade Mark Convergence Network Meeting

ARISE+ IPR will host the first ASEAN Trade Mark Convergence Network Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, between 31 October – 1 November 2019, with the long-term goal to create more points of convergence and minimize divergence in the area of trade marks in ASEAN.

The first ASEAN Trade Mark Convergence Network Meeting’s main objectives are to strengthen cooperation among ASEAN IP offices on trade marks and support all trade mark-related initiatives. It will focus on trade mark topics that pose challenges in the examination process and services that need improvement.

ARISE+ IPR will host network meetings replacing the exiting consultation meetings to be able to operate on a project-based approach, tailored for implementation purposes. In these network meetings, ASEAN representatives will be encouraged to collaborate on specific areas, and support one other in tackling highly technical topics and overcoming exiting challenges.

The first ASEAN Trade Mark Convergence Network Meeting in Kuala Lumpur will be attended by senior trade mark officials from all 10 ASEAN Member States.
