Sakpatenti to obtain ISO 9001:2015 certificate in 2021

The EU Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) is supporting the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – Sakpatenti – in becoming an ISO 9001:2015 certified organisation. Two events were held in the second semester of 2020, exchanging experiences with the services responsible for quality standards at the IP Office of Lithuania and of the EUIPO.

On 24 December 2020 Sakpatenti and the consultancy firm ‘Management Systems’ had their first meeting. The company, which is an official representative of certification bodies in Georgia, will provide support in the development, implementation and certification audit of Sakpatenti’s Quality Management System. During this kick-off meeting Sakpatenti validated the work plan aimed at concluding the certification process by 2021.

With this support, Sakpatenti will enhance quality management systems, streamline work processes and optimise resources. This will contribute towards increased effectiveness and productivity at all levels, as well as helping to improve Sakpatenti’s image both locally and internationally.

The activity is financed by the EU-funded project EUGIPP which aims to ensure there is adequate and effective protection and enforcement of IP rights in Georgia.
