Recordings and presentations from the design examination training and webinar about women in creative industries are available now

Design examination - A two-day online training session on design examination was held online from 12 to 13 March 2024 to strengthen the skills of intellectual property (IP) registrars, in particular industrial design examiners, from the MERCOSUR countries, Chile and other Latin American countries. It was organised in collaboration with the IP cooperation project IP KEY Latin America. Led by experts from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the training covered registrability requirements such as novelty and originality, the registration of partial objects, and the interface between industrial designs and copyright. Creative aspects of technological design, including graphical user interface and icon design, were also covered.

The recording of the entire event is now available on YouTube in Spanish and Portuguese. In addition, the recordings and all presentations have also been added to the activity page.

Webinar about women in creative industries - Additionally, recordings of the international webinar held online on 20 March about women in creative industries and intellectual property are now also available. The webinar intended to amplify women’s voices, spotlighting esteemed panellists from Latin America and the European Union to share their experiences and perspectives regarding gender-related challenges and opportunities in creative fields like audiovisual, film, music, and literature. This aimed at encouraging women to protect and leverage their creative assets effectively to achieve greater inclusivity and validation in the global creative arena.
